Rachel Gupta made history this week by becoming the first Indian to win the Miss Grand International title, triumphing over contestants from over 70 countries. The 20-year-old resident of Punjab not only claimed the prestigious crown but also earned the Grand Pageants Choice Award, putting her in a tie with Lara Dutta for the most global pageant crowns won by an Indian.
The organizers celebrated her achievement on Instagram, stating, “Congratulations to Rachel Gupta for achieving the crown of dreams! She embodies beauty, elegance, and true talent. May her journey to success shine even brighter with every step she takes.”
In her own words, Gupta expressed her excitement, saying, “We did it! We won the first Golden Crown in Indian history! Thank you to everyone who believed in me! I promise not to let you down. I vow to be a Queen whose reign you’ll remember forever!”
Rachel secured her spot at the international pageant after winning the Miss Grand India title in August. Prior to that, she also claimed the Miss Super Talent of the World crown in 2022. With a significant social media following of over 1 million on Instagram, she is set to serve as a global ambassador for Miss Grand International, promoting messages of peace and stability worldwide.
In a previous interview, Gupta shared her aspirations, stating, “I understand that many women hesitate to pursue their dreams due to various challenges or lack of confidence. I hope my journey inspires them to break free from those constraints and chase their ambitions.”
