A team of doctors specializing in urology, cardiology, and geriatric medicine evaluated the 96-year-old veteran leader during his stay. Sources from AIIMS confirmed that Advani underwent a minor procedure and was discharged after his condition stabilized.
Advani, born in Karachi (now in Pakistan) on November 8, 1927, was recently awarded the Bharat Ratna on March 30, 2024, by President Draupadi Murmu. His political career began with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in 1942, and he entered Parliament in 1970 as a member of the Rajya Sabha.
Advani played a pivotal role in the BJP’s rise to prominence, serving as its president for multiple terms and holding key ministerial positions including Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister during the tenure of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government (1999-2004). He gained national attention for his Rath Yatra advocating for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, an event that culminated in the demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992.
