BENGALURU: Truecaller is advancing its spam detection and fraud prevention systems through cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies.

According to Priyam Bose, Global Head of Truecaller for Business GTM (Go To Market) and Developer Products and Engineering, “We are continuously improving our spam detection features and focusing on strategic collaborations with government bodies and leading Indian brands to raise awareness about cyber fraud.”

In its recent initiatives, Truecaller has partnered with Microsoft to incorporate AI voice assistant technology for call handling and with HDFC Ergo to introduce cyber fraud insurance.

As digital adoption accelerates in India, businesses are increasingly required to ensure trustworthy and secure communication with their users, while also safeguarding their brand reputation from impersonators and scammers, Bose noted.

“By integrating solutions such as Verified Business Caller ID, Video Caller ID, Call Reason context, personalized API interactions, and actionable insights like call-back options and feedback mechanisms, we aim to enhance business communication throughout the customer interaction lifecycle,” Bose explained.

Truecaller is also expanding its reach with a new feature for Android Wear OS, enabling users to manage calls and messages directly from their smartwatches. Key functionalities include call identification, spam blocking, and message filtering.

Additionally, Truecaller has launched the AI Call Scanner, a pioneering feature designed to detect AI-generated voices in real-time. This technology enables users to recognize and guard against potential scams and fraudulent activities by distinguishing between human and AI-synthesized voices.
