Traffic Flow Disrupted on Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway
As heavy rains continued to batter Telangana, the state faced widespread flooding, particularly in low-lying areas. The torrential downpour, which began on Sunday, led to significant disruptions across the region. By Monday morning, while the intensity of the rain had lessened, many areas were still grappling with the aftermath of the flooding. In just 24 hours, nine people lost their lives, and five others remain missing.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of extremely heavy rainfall in isolated areas of Adilabad district on Monday. In response, the Cyberabad Police have urged IT and ITES companies to promote a work-from-home policy for September 2. Additionally, all primary and secondary schools in Hyderabad have been closed for the day as a precautionary measure to ensure student safety.
