Mumbai: Tensions between Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress have surfaced following the Congress party’s decision to contest the Haryana assembly elections alone. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut criticized the move, stating, “If Congress wants to go solo nationwide, it should make an official announcement, allowing other alliance partners to decide their course.”

In an editorial in Saamana, the party’s mouthpiece, Shiv Sena (UBT) attributed Congress’s defeat in Haryana to its disregard for alliance partners, contrasting it with the INDIA bloc’s success in Jammu and Kashmir, where Congress fought alongside allies. Raut emphasized that the Congress party needs to clarify its position on alliances across the country.

This criticism underscores growing friction within the opposition alliance as parties gear up for key state elections. Congress has yet to respond to Raut’s remarks.
