Studios and theaters are capitalizing on the charm of yesteryear to attract audiences back to the multiplex. Recent re-releases like Maine Pyar Kiya, Laila Majnu, and Rockstar have been met with widespread acclaim. Now, several more beloved films are set to return to cinemas, promising to captivate audiences once again.
- Tumbbad
This 2018 fantasy horror film, directed by Rahi Anil Barve, follows the protagonist’s quest for a hidden treasure in the village of Tumbbad. Featuring Anand Gandhi, Madhav Hari Joshi, Jyoti Malshe, Rudra Soni, and Harish Khanna, Tumbbad will make its way back to theaters on August 30.
- Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein
Directed by Gautham Menon, this 2001 romantic drama stars Saif Ali Khan, Dia Mirza, and R Madhavan. The film tells the story of Maddy, a young man who, in a bid to win over Reena, pretends to be someone he’s not. It returns to cinemas on August 30.

Anurag Kashyap’s 2012 epic, split into two parts, chronicles the saga of the Dhanbad coal mafia from 1941 to 2009. With a stellar cast including Manoj Bajpai, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Pankaj Tripathi, Richa Chadda, Jaideep Ahlawat, Huma Qureshi, and Tigmanshu Dhulia, this landmark film will be back in theaters on August 30.

The iconic 1975 classic, directed by Ramesh Sippy, is set for a special screening at Regal Cinema in Mumbai on August 31. Featuring a legendary cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Amjad Khan, and Sanjeev Kumar, Sholay tells the story of Jai and Veeru, two ex-convicts hired to capture the notorious bandit Gabbar Singh.
