AAP leader Sanjay Singh promised to replicate the AAP's Delhi model in Uttar Pradesh, saying the party will seek votes on the promise of providing clean cities.
The promises were made in Lucknow by AAP MP and Uttar Pradesh in-charge Sanjay Singh.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched its campaign for the state's upcoming local body elections with the slogan 'House Tax Half, Water Tax Maaf' on Sunday. Sanjay Singh, an AAP MP and the party's state incharge, promised to waive water tax and cut house tax in half if the AAP won local body elections.
"There will be no water tax and half the house tax in every local body where the AAP wins," Singh told reporters. He also announced party incharges for 633 local body seats on the occasion.
Singh promised to replicate the AAP's Delhi model in Uttar Pradesh, saying the party will campaign on the promise of providing clean cities. "People of Delhi voted for AAP and the party gave them a clean city, Mohalla clinics and the best education system. "The Punjab government is also working on the Delhi model," Singh explained.
He also chastised the Centre for raids on Opposition leaders across the country by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Singh outlined the CBI cases filed against politicians across the state. The AAP announced a 15-day membership drive and the formation of ward committees for civic elections.
The AAP has targeted the Yogi government on the issue of "lack of infrastructure and facilities in government-run primary schools" in its campaign for the civic elections.
