God of War: Ragnarok is set to debut in November, so Sony will have one of its most anticipated titles out before the end of the year. This is according to Bloomberg, which also mentions the possibility of the game being postponed. Previous rumours suggested that the PS4 and PS5 game will be delayed until 2023, but Ragnarok is set to release this fall.
Raganrok's official release date should be announced before the end of June, according to Bloomberg, but nothing is written in stone yet, and the date might yet shift beyond November. It was reportedly planned to be released in September at one point but was then pushed back to November.
Ragnarok was rated for release in Korea in May, indicating that the game would be released soon. However, because Sony has yet to officially announce Ragnarok's release date, all of this information should be treated with caution for the time being.
The release date for God of War: Ragnarok was originally slated for 2021, but due to an injury to Kratos actor Christopher Judge, the film was postponed. Because Microsoft and Bethesda's Starfield has been postponed until 2023, the PS4 and PS5 games will face less competition this year in the first-party race.
Some people assume Ragnarok will be delayed until 2023, although the game's animation director stated earlier this year that the game will still be released in 2022. Earlier this year, developer Cory Barlog provided an update on Raganrok, stating that everyone on the team is "heads-down, hard at work" on the project.
"We're perfectionists," Barlog said, adding that he expects to be able to offer more Ragnarok information and updates as soon as possible. "We don't want to keep anything from you. So please hold on tight—something exciting is on the way."
