The Chamber will receive another batch of nerfs in Valorant in the next patch
Summary
- Riot Games intends to tone down Ultimates in Valorant while also addressing outliers in the current meta in patch 5.12.
- Agent deployables can now be targeted and destroyed by damage over time abilities.
- The patch is expected to go live in the second or third week of December.
Valorant Community Manager Jo-Ellen revealed all of the balance changes coming to Valorant 5.12, and the meta appears to be changing dramatically in the coming weeks. The patch is available in the Public Beta Environment until December 5th, and it will be released for the live version of the game later this month.
Agent Ultimate's costs are being examined, and Chamber's kit is getting a second round of nerfs. Riot Games has refrained from making too many balance changes in recent months due to the Champions Tour and Game Changers events, but it is finally time for the devs to smack some of the game's most broken agents.
What is different in Valorant patch 5.12?
Damage-over-time area abilities (such as Brimstone's Incendiary and Viper's Snakebite) now damage enemy utility, which is why Riot Games increased the health of 1 HP destructibles so that they aren't instantly vaporised but can still be destroyed by one-shot in most situations. Ultimates with large, site-wide footprints will cost more, and the game wants to reduce the impact abilities have in the game.
Chamber's kit is being updated in almost every way, but many other agents are also getting upgrades. Here is a preview of all the changes that will be included in the next patch:
