Cult of the Lamb is now cheaper on Steam ahead of a massive free content update in 2023, which Massive Monster has revealed will add heavy attacks to the roguelike.Cult of the Lamb, Massive Monster's Game Award-nominated roguelike game, has been reduced in price on Steam ahead of its first major content update in early 2023. What better way to start the year than by slaughtering innocents with brand-new heavy moves while brainwashing cute little forest animals.
Devolver has announced that the titular Lamb will be able to carry out heavy attacks in the new year; all you have to do is hold down the attack button to dispatch your enemies.
Each weapon has a unique heavy attack, with the dagger producing a line of sharpened blades that fall from the sky and the axe now acting as a boomerang that shreds through enemies and allows you to play with geometry to slay in style.
This new addition headlines the game's first-ever content update (which, by the way, is completely free), which will also include quality-of-life updates and difficulty changes. It will also add "depth" to this tragic tale of terror, though exactly what that means is unknown.
Adjustments to the game's difficulty levels will no doubt be music to the ears of many an animal anarchist, as the game was widely regarded as too easy upon release, with players completing the story in a matter of hours. Hopefully, this update will entice players to return to the maniacal world of Cult of the Lamb; if not, the fact that it's 25% off on Steam should help.
