Gamers Take Matters Into Their Own Hands to Fix Hacked Video Game Black Ops III by Activision

PC players of Black Ops 3 are facing a new hack that puts their security at risk. It exposes your IP address, corrupts your game data, and even causes your system to crash.

While this is cause for concern, Activision has issued a statement stating that they are aware of the problem and will resolve it as soon as possible.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is still one of the most popular franchise titles available almost eight years after its release. On Steam, it still has a sizable player base. However, the recent hacking incident made the experience unpleasant, and players have been experiencing difficulties while playing the game. This new issue allows hackers to take control of players' devices, which can be dangerous for everyone.

Neil Wood, a spokesperson for Activision and the game's development studio, Treyarch, issued a statement regarding the issue.

The multiplayer section of Call of Duty Black Ops 3 is still active. With nearly 5000 players joining the server every day, it is one of the older Call of Duty games that is still popular among the community. According to Techcrunch, since the game's release, a player named Heumann and his friend have been reverse-engineering it. While Activision had previously attempted to prevent them from working on their clients, the recent uprising has helped the franchise recognise their efforts to make the fan experience safer.

Heumann's new client will replace the original launcher and allow players to launch the game from a different source with patches. This new client, however, will not allow players to matchmake with others using official sources. The player's goal is to build an ecosystem with a shared environment that allows everyone to play the game without worry.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is available for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Follow Sportskeeda's Esports and Gaming section for more Call of Duty news.
