Stock Market Live Updates: Sensex and Nifty Show Mixed Trend

As of 10:00 am IST, the BSE Sensex was trading at 49,329, up 66 points or 0.13%, while the NSE Nifty was trading at 14,830, down 8 points or 0.06%.

Among the top gainers in early trading were Adani Enterprises, Hero MotoCorp, and Tata Power, while the top losers were Britannia, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and HDFC Bank.

Investors are closely watching the developments related to the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the progress of the vaccination drive in the country. The recent surge in cases and the resulting lockdowns have raised concerns about the economic recovery and the impact on corporate earnings.

Meanwhile, global cues were mixed, with Asian markets trading in a narrow range, while US stocks closed higher on Wednesday. The SGX Nifty was trading flat, indicating a muted opening for the Indian markets.

Market experts advise caution in the current scenario and recommend focusing on quality stocks with a long-term perspective. The market is likely to remain volatile in the short term, but is expected to offer good opportunities for investors with a disciplined approach.
