Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, gave an update on the actor’s health following his gunshot injury. She visited him at Criticare Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday morning and shared reassuring news with fans.
In a video released by a paparazzo, Sunita informed the media that Govinda’s condition is improving and he’s expected to be discharged soon. The actor accidentally injured his leg on Tuesday when his revolver discharged while he was putting it away.
Sunita Ahuja’s Health Update
Speaking to the press, Sunita said in Hindi and English, “Govinda is doing much better today. He’s being transferred to a regular ward and should be discharged in the next day or two. With everyone’s blessings, he is recovering well.” She also mentioned that prayers for Govinda are being held everywhere, adding, “I want to tell the fans not to worry—he is fine. He’ll be back to dancing in a few months.”
How the Incident Happened
According to Mumbai Police, the accident occurred early Tuesday morning around 4:45 am. Govinda was preparing to leave for Kolkata when his licensed revolver accidentally fired while he was placing it in the cupboard. The bullet struck his leg, but doctors have since removed it, and his condition is stable.
Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, confirmed the incident, explaining, “The gun slipped from his hand and went off, causing the injury. Fortunately, the doctors quickly addressed the situation, and he is stable now.”
Govinda’s Message to Fans
Shortly after the incident, Govinda shared an audio message thanking his fans, doctors, and well-wishers. He said in Hindi, “With the blessings of my fans, parents, and God, I’m feeling better now. The bullet has been removed, and I’m grateful to Dr. Agarwal and everyone praying for me.”
Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha and director David Dhawan also visited the hospital to check on Govinda’s condition.
