YouTube, the Google-owned platform, has not yet clarified if it will provide a grace period for current subscribers before they are required to start paying the new monthly subscription fee.

YouTube has raised its Premium subscription prices in India across all tiers, with increases reaching up to 58% for certain plans. The platform, which boasts over 100 million global subscribers, has adjusted prices for its student, individual, and family plans. The new rates are now in effect, though it’s unclear if a grace period will be offered to existing subscribers before they must pay the updated rates.

YouTube Premium provides benefits such as ad-free video streaming, background play, picture-in-picture mode, and enhanced high-definition video.

Updated YouTube Premium Prices in India:

  • Student Monthly Plan: Increased from ₹79 to ₹89
  • Individual Monthly Plan: Increased from ₹129 to ₹149
  • Family Monthly Plan: Increased from ₹189 to ₹299

For prepaid options:

  • Individual Prepaid Monthly Plan: Increased from ₹139 to ₹159
  • Individual Prepaid Quarterly Plan: Increased from ₹399 to ₹459
  • Individual Prepaid Annual Plan: Increased from ₹1,290 to ₹1,490

Spotify Premium Prices in India:

  • Individual Plan: ₹119 per month
  • Family Plan (up to six accounts): ₹179 per month
  • Student Plan: ₹59 per month
