The demolition comes in response to allegations of unauthorized construction within the Full Tank Level (FTL) area and buffer zone of Thammidikunta Lake in Madhapur.
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) authorities have initiated the demolition of the N-Convention Centre, a large venue owned by renowned actor Nagarjuna.
The N-Convention Centre, situated on a 10-acre site, has been under scrutiny due to allegations of illegal construction in the Full Tank Level (FTL) area and buffer zone of Thammidikunta Lake in Madhapur. According to records from the North Tank Division’s executive engineer, the FTL area of the lake spans approximately 29.24 acres. It is alleged that the N-Convention Centre encroached upon about 1.12 acres of this FTL area and an additional 2 acres within the buffer zone.
The venue’s management has long been accused of leveraging influence to circumvent regulatory measures imposed by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and other authorities, thereby evading the consequences of these encroachments.
The demolition began in the early hours of Saturday, with HYDRA officials and a contingent of police personnel present to ensure the process proceeded smoothly and without interruption.
