Samsung Rolls Out ‘Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification’ Feature for Galaxy Watches in India.

Samsung has rolled out the Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRN) feature on the Samsung Health Monitor app for Galaxy Watches in India. This new feature enhances heart health monitoring by working alongside the existing Blood Pressure and Electrocardiogram (ECG) capabilities, aiming to identify potential atrial fibrillation (AFib) and provide a more comprehensive view of users’ heart health.

Which Samsung Galaxy Watch models will receive the IHRN feature?

The IHRN feature is available on the newly launched Galaxy Watch7 Ultra and Galaxy Watch7, as well as on the Galaxy Watch6, Watch5, and Watch4 series.

How to enable the IHRN feature on your Samsung Galaxy Watch

To activate the IHRN feature, Galaxy Watch users should update the Samsung Health Monitor app via the Galaxy Store and then enable the IHRN feature through the app’s settings menu.

How the IHRN feature works

Once enabled, the IHRN feature continuously monitors for irregular heart rhythms using the Galaxy Watch’s BioActive Sensor. If it detects a series of irregular measurements, the watch will alert the user about potential AFib activity, suggesting an ECG for a more precise assessment.

Samsung asserts that, combined with existing Blood Pressure and Heart Rate monitoring, the IHRN feature offers deeper insights into cardiovascular health. The Galaxy Watch’s BioActive Sensor also provides additional tools, such as on-demand ECG recording and an HR Alert function, to help users monitor and understand their heart health better.
