A senior BJP leader confirmed to News18 that Yogi Adityanath, who arrived in Delhi on Friday and met with senior BJP leader BL Santhosh, remains a popular chief minister with no basis for the circulating rumors.
The BJP leadership will reaffirm its faith in Yogi Adityanath and discuss his review of the 2024 election results in Uttar Pradesh, along with strategies for the 2027 assembly polls.
After arriving in Delhi, Adityanath held a meeting with BL Santhosh and attended the NITI Aayog meeting and a BJP chief ministers’ conclave over the weekend. “Yogi is a popular CM and the party has full faith in him. There is no basis for any rumors doing the rounds,” stated a top BJP leader.
Before his Delhi visit, Adityanath conducted a 20-day review with UP public representatives following the BJP’s poor performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He met with BJP MPs, MLAs, and MLCs from all 18 divisions of Uttar Pradesh for extensive review meetings, addressing issues and expectations from their constituencies.
Adityanath advised representatives to start preparing for the upcoming assembly elections, analyze voting patterns, and use this analysis to plan strategies. The division-wise review meetings began on July 7 and concluded with the Lucknow division on Friday.
The chief minister urged leaders to emphasize development activities and counter opposition rumors. He provided a strategy for the 2027 assembly elections, focusing on communication, active engagement, and social media. He stressed the importance of conveying development activities to the public and maintaining contact with beneficiaries of various schemes.
Adityanath also advised representatives to oppose opposition rumors and disrupt social harmony through social media, exposing lies, and sharing the truth. He encouraged engagement with youth and women’s organizations, informing them about impartial government job provisions and connecting with those who secured jobs without bias.
He instructed representatives to file written complaints against officials reluctant to implement government welfare schemes, assuring appropriate action.
Notably, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brijesh Pathak were absent from the review meetings chaired by Adityanath, with Maurya also missing several recent cabinet meetings. The BJP leadership is expected to discuss this issue during Adityanath’s visit.
